Description
The small, grey seeds of the chia plant are a hit and an ideal addition to your daily diet. Chia seeds are packed with plant-based protein, unsaturated fatty acids and fibre and are particularly high in omega-3 fatty acids - which makes them perfect for a vegan diet. The seeds swell when soaked and can be used in a variety of ways. They are sourced from South America where they are constantly checked for quality. With less than 3 g of carbohydrates and 23 g of protein per 100 g, they are also suitable for a low-carb diet. Add them to muesli, batter or as a topping on salads and soups.
Recommended intake:
- The proportion of chia seeds in any dish should never exceed 10%. The general recommendation is 15 g per day.
- For a thick consistency, mix the seeds in a ratio of 1 part chia seeds to 4 parts liquid.
