Description
American, black or wild snake root, American, high or perennial St. Christopher's herb, woman's root, bugwort, black salsify or rattlesnake herb. The black cohosh has a lot of names. It belongs to the buttercup family and can reach a height of 2.5 meters. The herbaceous plant begins to bloom between June and September. It prefers to grow in shady locations at high altitudes, preferably from eastern to central North America.
