Description
German packaging: Nr. 15 Der Herbalist für Hunde
Skin or ear problems, extreme hair loss when changing fur or a dull coat are common problems for dogs. These issues can be due to a dog's diet. Dogs need high-quality meat, plant fibres and fat in their diets. Fats are particularly important for healthy skin and ears.
Dogs naturally tolerate large amounts of fat. Their natural diets would include vegetable fat from grass or seeds in addition to animal fats. While animal fats primarily serve as energy suppliers, vegetable oils are valuable for their healthy properties. High quality vegetable oil is preferable for dogs prone to obesity.
The quality and composition of the oil is very important. The higher the quality of the oil, the higher the proportion of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids it contained. These oils can only be obtained through food and were previously called "vitamin F". Their diverse tasks in the body include building the cell membranes. As a result, they contribute to the stability of the skin and a shiny coat. Polyunsaturated fatty acids also contribute to how blood flows in the body and fertility.
In addition to the structural tasks of essential fatty acids, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids have an important role in the formation of inflammatory regulating tissue hormones, the prostaglandins.
These tissue hormones are able to fight inflammation of the skin, nerves or musculoskeletal system. Alpha and gamma linolenic acids are particularly important for healthy skin and support nutritional therapy for eczema. Since the body's own formation of prostaglandins depends on a certain trace element status, we generally recommend supplementing the No.4 Goldwert.
A Mix of High Quality Oils
No. 15 The Herbalist is a mixture of the finest cold-pressed oils in top quality. It includes a high amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids such as alpha-linolenic acid and gamma-linolenic acid.
The olive oil was included in the recipe because it
it is rich in fat accompanying substances such as squalene (a component found mainly in fish), polyphenols and phytosterols. Linseed oil contains about 60% alpha-linolenic acid. Hemp oil is obtained from hemp nuts and is characterised by its balanced ratio of alpha and gamma linolenic acid. It is deep green due to its high proportion of phytochemicals.
Wheat germ oil contains large amounts of natural vitamin E and is considered to be natural preservative. Nevertheless, the Herbalist should be stored in a cool and dark location.
Borage and evening primrose oil are known for their wealth of skin-protecting fatty acids, especially gamma-linolenic acid, which also supports the nervous system and stimulation conduction. This oil is used internally and externally for eczema.
Pomegranate seed oil is rich in phytosterols and flavonoids. It also contains a high content of punicic acid, an omega-5 fatty acid.
The various oils contained in The Herbalist offer a unique spectrum of different fatty acids. The Herbalist does not contain fish oil.
